Who hasn’t destroyed their favourite cloth because of some silly laundry mistake? Been there, done that. That’s why we created this short article to help your favourite colourful and patterned socks to avoid it.

Why do the socks pill?

Only synthetic fibres can stay smooth forever. Stinky, sweaty feet? These kinds of fabrics are not comfortable or breathable.

In the beginning, you need to understand the nature of cotton socks.  Delicate fibres pill when they rub inside your shoe. You can't avoid that.  We recommend the optimal solution to keep them durable -  choose socks that also have other materials. At KABAK, socks are 80% combed cotton, 15% polyamide and 5% elastane. Your socks will keep the best shape if you wash them at the right temperature.

Will the socks shrink?

What if you want your socks to shrink? Let's say you accidentally bought or got socks that are too big. Now you need them a little bit smaller. In that case, we have a solution right for you. Socks will shrink when you wash them at more than 40 degrees. 

If you don’t want your socks to shrink, always wash them at up to 40-celsius degrees. At KABAK, we don’t recommend bleaching, tumble drying, ironing or dry cleaning them - our socks are out of delicate combed cotton that is not resistant to these kinds of processes. They don’t like too high temperatures so let them dry naturally.

Where do socks go in the washing machine?

Do your socks get lost in the washing machine? You could think it's a mystery but the answer is actually simple. Just check the seal near the washing machine drum. Sounds reasonable, right?
