Where did the idea come from?

Creating new lumberjack beanies seemed like a natural step after introducing organic cotton socks into the KABAK collection. Made out of recycled fibre, cute and warm even on the coldest days beanies bring us closer to the less-waste idea. Why are we supposed to be more less-waste? Because the textile industry is currently the second most harmful to the environment.  It’s hard to believe that every year 80 billion pieces of clothing are sold - it’s more than 10 per person on the Earth. According to KPMG*, while 37% of Poles try to buy a new piece of clothing every month, 22% throw away clothes that they’re simply bored with or don’t find fashionable anymore. The new life of old clothes

All textiles that you can use in raw materials recycling are possible to reuse. We put everything on cotton - a material that is natural and safe for sensitive skin. The cotton that we reused to create our lumberjack beanies was once a pair of jeans. During the recycling process, all the metal parts of the pants are removed. Their material is reduced to fibres that can be used again in the creation of new yarn. Using recycled cotton helps us reuse materials that were once already in your closet.

There is as much as 92% of cotton in our KABAKrecycled beanies. Cotton is certified by Recycled Blended Claim Standard, claimed to be an international standard guaranteeing responsible recycling of materials and transparency of the supply chain.
